Stepping Out On Faith….Thinking About Writing A Novel

Stepping Out On Faith….Thinking About Writing A Novel

Today is day 17 of the UBC!!  I am behind…again…but what else is new?  Actually, there is something pretty cool that I am about to embark upon.  Tell me what you think about it.

It seems as if this Ultimate Blog Challenge has had a ripple effect on my life.  Not only am I being forced to modify my writing habits from twice a month on average to once a day; I am getting a lot of feedback from readers….faithful and new that I should write a novel.  A novel?  Moi?  I guess they like my style of writing and think that there might be something there.

I’ve let the thought pass through my cerebral cortex once or twice but NEVER took it seriously.  Me…the person who is always telling everyone else to pursue their bliss; to have faith and confidence in your abilities.  I guess when it comes to taking our own advice, it becomes slightly more complicated.

I have no idea what I will write about, but more likely than not it will be fiction.  Perhaps, a suspense thriller?  I am not sure, but it will be a lot of fun figuring this out.  Thanks to you who have encouraged me to move ahead on this and to those of you who have been following my UBC journey thus far.  I will definitely give it a shot, learn as much as I can about how to get published, etc.  If you happen to have knowledge, tips, and advice, I am an empty vessel waiting to be filled.

I would like to think that I would still have time to blog full time about travel.  At this point, I do not plan to give it up entirely, but I may have to scale back to accommodate this new venture.  I am excited.  I do not know where this will lead me, but I hope that I have your good wishes and continue encouragement to see me through.

Thank YOU!

Nice idea Renee, you have all it takes to be a successful novelist, just go ahead, it may seems diffilcult at the start, but with time you will be happy to have a book of your own.

Yes, absolutely follow your bliss, and if writing a novel is that for you, then definitely go for it. And, since you’re all about travel, you could work that in. You know how we’ve got all these detective/mystery stories about all sorts of people who *happen* to also solve crimes? Well, you could have, say, a travel agent crime solver, traveling here and there for the 9-5 job, and stumbling into who knows what all sorts of trouble. Then you’ve got fiction and travel writing all rolled into one. 😉 Seriously, though, whatever you decide to do, I wish you luck.

Someone else suggested that I employ lots of geographic scenarios into the novel….thanks for this, Cheri! You have my wheels spinning now. lol Thanks for good wishes….cheers!

You’re a talented writer so you should definitely write a novel. I play with the idea myself, but it’s a daunting task. We could motivate each other!

      Hi Laurel!

Oh, thanks so much for that vote of confidence….that means so much to me. I can see you writing a novel too….you live in the perfect setting too. Let’s do that….let’s encourage and motivate one another to keep pushing forward on this.
