Today’s picture was taken at Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine. I selected it because it reminded me of a song from “The Outsiders”, a movie adapted from the S.E. Hinton novel. The theme song was sung by Stevie Wonder and was a play on Robert Frost’s poem, “Nothing gold can stay”.
Acadia is special. Eagle Lake surrounds Otter Cliff’s jagged edges as it envelopes the shoreline. It’s shaded by lush foliage that represents vibrancy; a beginning where nature awakens fresh and full of promise. Though we are captured in the beauty of the moment, we realize that like all things, it is fleeting.
