Introducing Cloud 9 Living

I’m not going to lie.  I love gadgets, trinkets, and thingamabobs as much as the next person.  However, there comes a time when you figure out that you have more than enough ‘things’ and that you’ve reached a saturation point.  Never does this become more clear than when you are trying to find the perfect gift for someone who seems to have it all.  Or perhaps they do not.  Maybe you just want to show that you care by gifting a loved one, friend, co-worker with something that they can treasure longer than the warranty of the latest version of the hottest electronic gadget that can do everything but tie your shoelaces.

“Trying to be happy by accumulating possessions is like trying to satisfy hunger by taping sandwiches all over your body.” – George Carlin

Enter Cloud 9 Living.  Its concept is not new, but it certain does get your attention.  Cloud 9 Living is the US leader in experience gifts, offering more than 1,700 unique experiential gifts for men, women & couples in 43 regions. They take pride in delivering exceptional customer service to ensure every gift recipient enjoys a memorable experience.  I loved the idea of gifting someone with an experience, something that they could always carry with them as a pleasant memory.

There’s no shortage of ‘Experience’ options from Cloud Nine.

Cloud 9 Living offers some really exciting choices like race car driving, hot air ballooning, learning how to become a fighter pilot in one day, one on one golf lessons with a pro.  The offerings from the gamut from being pampered to being physically challenged with a wide variety of sports-related activities.  The great thing is that the activities are set up in such a way that I am not limited to my particular geographical region, I can send one of my southern friends to helicopter ski in Telluride, CO.  You can also select experiences based on who your recipient is, what the occasion is and/or what type of experience you think that they may enjoy.

Just looking at the home page may give you the initial impression that you would be overwhelmed, but you won’t be.  Once you have selected your gift, you simply add it to the cart. You would check out the usual way when purchasing online where you can create an account or check out as a guest.  Once the purchase is complete, you will receive an email confirmation.  I selected a relaxing Swedish massage at a spa located in Mid-town Atlanta as my gift.  Once it was confirmed, I received my email confirmation, but to my surprise, I got this in the mail a few days later.

My gift certificate was encased in a hard covered,  tri-fold that was very impressive indeed!

Once you are given your certificate number, you can go to their website and make your appointment. I received an appointment confirmation email shortly thereafter and a call the next day to confirm the date that I had chosen. My appointment was with a Day Spa in midtown Atlanta called “Exhale” which is on the 7th floor of the luxurious Loews Hotel. I was treated like royalty from the moment I stepped inside.  Exhale is a full-service spa that offers a variety of health and wellness programs and features a retail store where you can indulge in all of the latest new age tools that help you to relax and rejuvenate.  I have to say that I really enjoyed my experience there.

Everyone was kind and pleasant; you got a sense of peace and serenity in every square foot of the place.  The atmosphere was very calming and I can see myself coming back again without a doubt.  My masseuse came to get me within five minutes of my sitting down in the wait room.  She was very attentive and professional and I have to say that I left feeling refreshed and relaxed after she worked the kinks out of my tired body (I had attended my Aqua Zumba class the night before).  Maybe next time, I will be brave enough to try something a little more challenging like hang gliding!  Or maybe not….

While my experience at Exhale was provided by Cloud 9 Living, my opinion about the company and the services rendered by Exhale are my own.
