Travel Photo Thursday | Helen, Georgia

There are some things that you do not expect to see in rural Georgia…..and this is one of them.  This windmill is located right outside of downtown Helen, Georgia.  However, given its surroundings and the bavarian cottage in the background, you would think otherwise.   It nice being surprised like this and is just another reason for anyone to visit this beautiful town north of Atlanta.

I agree! One does not expect to see a windmill in Georgia. Holland, MI maybe … but not Georgia.

One of my most favorite feeling when traveling is to see things that I don’t usually expect of seeing in a certain place just like that one on the picture. It is what I call a wonderful surprise from traveling.

I’ve never visited Georgia but it is always a state I’ve really wanted to go. It just seems very laid back.

That is great and the town looks like a little dutch village as well. Looks like a fun place, I have only been to Georgia once and really didn’t get to sight see while we were there. I am enjoying your photos, it’s fun to see different areas of the country that I will probably never get to visit.
